Some people like being alone; others are happiest when they are with a crowd of people. Which do you prefer?
I personally think that it depends on the situation whether I prefer being alone or with a group of people. Some people prefer to have time on their own, so that they can do the things they want to do without being controlled. However, for me, I prefer to be with a crowd of people when I am feeling awful. As there will always be someone who you can confide to and they will always lend you a listening ear when you need them. It will always make me feel happy with a large group of people, as I feel that there are still friends who care for me and they will eventually brighten up the day. There will be friends whom you can joke with and talk to. An example is that I prefer going shopping with a large group of people, as time will pass very fast, and we will not seem to be bored.
Whereas, when I am alone, there will be no one whom I can talk to, which will also makes me feel extremely terrible at times especially when I am feeling down. There will also be no one whom you can confide to when one has any friendship or studies problems, and it will make me feel that I am very lonely. It will also be very bored when you dine out or go out alone, and it seems that it takes forever to finish eating the plate of rice even though it is only a small serving.
However, there are also times that I prefer to be alone. An example is it I will not be able to finish the assignment if I am revising with a group of people, as I will be unable to concentrate on my studies and tend to chat with them rather than completing my homework. Thus, I prefer to be alone or with a small group of people who can concentrate on studies, when I really want to complete my work. Noise will also be produced when there is a large group of people, and it will really make me feel frustrated sometimes.
Therefore, I think that being alone or with a large group of people depends on my mood and the situation.

The economic issues it faced were the main reason for Japan's entry into the Pacific War. Do you agree? Explain your answer.
I do not agree that the economic issues it faced were the main reason for Japan’s entry into the Pacific War. Whereas, I think that militarism is the most important issue that led to the outbreak of the war.
Militarism is the strong army that Japan had in order to expand itself. Expansion to China will solve all Japan’s problems that they faced, and Japan will benefit a lot if they expand to China. Japan wanted to colonize China as they think that it will help them to get more lands. Thus, Japan separated the army into two. One is to conquer China, and the other is to expand to Siberia. Japan was much smaller than China, and thus it is also one of the problems that Japan faced.
The other factor is that Japan is lacking of resources – raw materials and land. They did not have enough raw materials to provide for its people. And protectionism is a problem that is faced by Japan. Other countries practiced protectionism and that caused Japan to have a problem to export goods, and thus, Japan is unable to import goods to other countries, which is related to the economic issues.
As there is a shortage of land, the farmers are unable to produce enough rice and staple food for their people, as most of them used old farming methods. This shows that there are a lot of people, but there is only little food.
The last factor that caused the outbreak of the war is that Japan is fearful of colonization. Many islands of the Asia Pacific have been colonized by the Western Power, and Japan think that they have to be the world power, or else they would be colonized by the Westerners too. Therefore, they decided to expand to China so that it will benefit them. They write slogans, which show that they are anti-westerners, like “Asia for Asians”. This is so that they are able to get the support of the Chinese.
Thus, I think that militarism is the main reason as compared to the economic issues. If the Japanese were not so inspired to fight for their own country due to the militaristic government, the Westerners will not feel so threatened. And it may be possible that Japan is still able to export goods although there is protectionism, they may be able to negotiate with them if they are not so strong or harsh for their militaristic approach. Protectionism and militarism will not be a problem to them.

The following are three measures that Singapore is using to overcome challenges and optimize opportunities in a globalizing world:
-Diversify the economy
-Nurture growth of small and medium enterprises
-Expand market reach through economic cooperation
Which do you think is the most important measure? Explain your answer.
I think that expanding market reach through economic cooperation measure to overcome challenges and optimize opportunities in a globalizing world.
I feel that to nurture the growth of Small and Medium Enterprises (SMEs) is less important. Nurturing the growth of SMEs is meant that there are associations which will be helping them if they are short of capital. It is set up to help the smaller corporations which needed help. Bank Loans will also be available to them if they needed more capital to survive on.
The other factor, to diversify the economy, also makes me fell that it is less important. The government has been hoping to increase the number of tourists and thus they are building the Integrated Resort (IR) so that there will be more tourists. For example, Hong Kong has built a Disneyland and that attracts a lot of foreigners to visit their countries. This is so that they earn more revenue. They would also have more technologies so as to prove that they are more competitive as the other countries.
Whereas, I think that to expand market reach through economic cooperation is the most important factor. There is a legal agreement which is between countries so that they are able to transport goods. This is called the Free Trade Agreement (FTA). This can let the Singaporeans to buy foreign products at a more reasonable price. The government will also be able to earn more revenues so that they can build more industries.
Therefore, Expanding market reach through economic cooperation is the most important one because if there are no revenue being earned. The government will not have sufficient funds to build more industries or places of interest in Singapore so as to attract tourists. Without enough revenue, the country will not have enough funds to help the smaller enterprises so that they can survive. This also means that the other two factors will not be possible if they don’t have enough money which is related to expanding the market reach through economic cooperation.
