My Favourite Food

Food is something that every living things eat which can fill our empty stomachs and to give us energy so that we can carry on with our lives.

Now, I would like to introduce to you my favorite food, Rojak. There are many different types of Rojak around the world which are Malay Rojak, Indian Rojak, Penang Rojak and many more. However, the one I like best is Singapore Rojak.

Rojak is derived from a Malay Salad dish of mixed vegetables and fruits, and the term is used locally to describe mixture and variety. This can also symbolize the mixture of different cultures in Singapore, as we are a country with different races.

This food item can be found easily in Singapore as it is famous Singapore food cuisine. It is made from different ingredients such as Chinese Dough Sticks (commonly known as ‘you tiao’), Fried tofu skin (commonly known as ‘tau pok’), turnip, cucumber and many more. It is usually being stirred together with a sweet black sauce, and it tastes really good!

The vendor will usually fry or toast the dough sticks and tofu skin which will make it to be really crispy. Then, he will stir everything together with the sauce and it is ready to be served.

As people nowadays prefer healthy food, you can also choose to eat Fruit Rojak where different types of fruits are being stirred together with the sauce. Thus, you don’t need to worry if you will put on weight. So why wait? Better grab it now and you will never regret!
